Take the HVAC panel off (remove the two air vent flow director things and the 2 screws in the air vents up top, and the four HVAC *****), then undo the four screws holding the HU in. Make sure you have the installation kit to hold the aftermarket stereo and an antenna adapter.
and what about the tweeters?

I think the tweeters use the same wires as the front door speakers. not sure, but if they do, they have there own bass reducers in line to them. can't remember for sure as i don't own a neon anymore. and to get to the tweeters you will have to remove the dash panel. 4 screws and the panel comes out. one on each side of the panels by the doors, and two right in the middle by the defrost vent. hope this helps. someone else chime in if i missed something or am wrong about something.
