My 2002 Neon with stock 15inch rims will need tires soon. In an effort to isolate the road and reduce engine RPM, I would like to know what the tallest tires I can use without them rubbing.

I went from 185/60-15 to 185/65-15 on our '02 Neon just because the 65 series were cheaper in a Michelin Harmony tire. A little taller than stock tire so the revs come down a little with no real difference in performance other than a little bit more sensitive to directional changes. I wanted the Michelins for their great tread wear and the car returns 33 mpg combined with these tires. I don't really know how tall you can go but there seems to be plenty of room for more tire under there. A 205/70 would probably fit no problem but it might handle a little weird.

 

i am running 205/50/r17. with out any issues

 

I think you can get a 215 on there. Can't remember exactly though. I'd have to double check.

Hey did you remove your Fog lights contagious19? Or is that a diffrent bumper?

 

The base model bumpers had fog deletes since they didn't come with 'em. My '01 had the delete plates.

 

I think the 00- to when they did a facelifts looks best without the fogs IMHO
