I guess my English is poor. The VSS is technically the output speed sensor. It sends a signal to the TCM which sends that signal to the CCD BUS which is the speed of the vehicle and a VSS is a vehicle speed sensor so all that means is what ever you call it, it's not your problem.

ok thanks. like i said before in an earlier post, I'm not to familiar with these cars. I guess my english is poor also

but thank you for the help. Since i changed out the Tranny shift solenoid and what you call the VSS and i call output speed sensor and the PCM, where do i go from here?

Should i drop the tranny?

Thank you for catching that.

A quick learn is required after replacing the solenoid pack or the car won't run correctly, as I found out today. That could be another problem.

I've never encountered a relearn necessary after replacing a solenoid pack?? But the fact he's getting a TCC code in the PCM when that code does not and cannot exsist on the OD trans says the PCM is wrong.

how far should it, if it does at all, does it need to quick learn. I took the car maybe for about 5 miles after the tranny solenoid was replaced. get go to far with only bein able to drive 35mph at 6000rpms

Your problem is you are chasing the wrong problems in the wrong order without adequate tools.

I've changed solenoid packs numerous times and never had to "quick learn" ever. If your transmission isn't shifting at all, you need to perform logical systematic diagnosis. It's fairly rare for a solenoid pack to fail (yes it happens but not nearly to the frequency of many other components that prevent proper operation).

you first order of business it to get the car back to stock with all the original parts (PCM). Then you need a scanner (not a code reader) to see the information in the computers. The code stuff is so limited. When I come across an issue, I do get the codes, but then I analyze data to verify the code is valid to the problem. Like in your issue with a P0743. I know it's a TCC code, however I analyzed that it is not a valid code for your vehicle. Which inturn you stated the PCM is not original thus leading to part of all your problems.
