Greetings from UK - Neon Problem
hey minty, here's an easy way to save yourself 80 quid to have those codes reset. (If the tranny additive works) It's worked for most codes I've run across anyway....
Fully disconnect the battery, both leads, for 20 min or so. maybe pump the break pedal a few times to "burn off" any residual charge in the system.
when you reconnect it, any codes stored should be erased.
Respectable selection of Lucas Oil Products available on amazon.co.ukhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/mn/search/?ref_=nb_sb_ss_i_4_5&url=search-alias%3Dautomotive&field-keywords=lucas%20oil&sprefix=Lucas&rd=1#/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=n%3A248877031%2Ck%3Alucas+oil&keywo rds=lucas+oil&ie=UTF8&qid=1321328269
They also have scan tools as cheap as £15.95, up to over £125, etc. I Personally have the Scanguage II, which stays plugged in to the OBDII Port, and displays all sorts of nifty info on the fly, and can read & Clear codes as well, over here it's about $160 on amazon, on the uk site, £125, but for just £55.99 they have this one that looks pretty darn similar...($93 over here)

anyone stumped as to how to type £ on a US Keyboard? while holding the Alt key, type 6556.

A hard code is a code that doesn't come and go, and usually indicates a major problem. An intermittent code is one that will come and go and is something that isn't going to cause a major problem...like my P0441 that comes and goes.
He He yea, I am a night owl. No listen your help has been most valuable, in fact all of everyones help has. At this point in time, I am willing to spend £12 to try some juice if it does correct a sticky valvle. Looking through the list the other chap posted about the codes in all fairness this liquid should cure most of those. If it doesnt work then it was nothing ventured and all that. Better to spend £12 than spend £500. Right let me go and buy this magic potion and stick it in and do a video.
Here Is the videos, stuff has not worked as of yet.

No offence taken my freind I am indeed a welsh man. I live on the coast inbetween 2 mountains just outside swansea. Yea 2nd video is still processing
Give it some time, at least a few days, with several drives in between rests. I still feel like it'll come out of it with a little use.
You're right, by the way, that's a damned nice car. Even if it comes to a rebuild, I think it'd be worth it. Such low mileage, beautiful body and interior, all in all, better than most women I know and would happily trade any (or all) of them for it

Just got a look at the second video...I really don't think it's a serious mechanical problem, it pulls too well through 1 and 2, and does OK in 3rd, when it manages to hit. Makes me think it's a governor valve sticking, or a sticky servo. Neither of these would require a rebuild, and could be done by you. You'd just need to drop the pan and the valve body.
