Default Help ASAP Engine no Start

Hi i have a 2000 dodge neon that suddenly started to bog out and wouldnt let me push the gas to rev it up it just stayed low sounding like it was going to turn off, then i turned it off and started it again and got it to rev up high i put it in gear and got it down the road fine and then suddenly it did the same thing but this time it wont start at all it turns over fine, i tested the fuel pressure i think,, i put the gauge on the fuel rail by the injecters ,, it never maintained pressure when turning the engine over it went up but not very much and wouldnt hold at all. i would appreciate any help or input before changing parts

Sounds like you've pretty much answered your own question.. probably a fuel pump.

You should be able to turn the key to the on position just to prime the pump and get around 30-40 PSI roughly, and it should hold.

I couldn't tell you for sure. If it were me I would just buy the entire sending unit.

I think only California emissions Neons came equipped with EGR valves, but I could be wrong.
