normally, the problem is usually the Crank and Cam sensor. Sometimes it a bad connector(less than $20 from ur dealer), that's why you fix it for a few days after you disconnect/reconnect it. When you replace the connector, make sure you Solder those wires.
And no, I do NOT think it's the computer.

replacing it with an OEM sensor and connector from the dealer will most likely fix it. start with the cheapest part.

Here a little update...
Had the Neon at the dealership. Got it towed, cause it just ran in limp mode. They changed the sensor and the light came on as soon as they were hitting the throttle. They installed "FOUR" different sensors and it didn't ran. Finally they changed the Magnet and left the old sensor on the motor. 5 Volts to PCM OK. Ground OK. They charged me 300 bucks for the magnet and labour, cause it's not covered by the extended warranty. Whatever. Wife picked it up and it broke down on the way home with the same Code. P0344.
It's at the dealer again. Will see what they find. To be continued...

Got a piece of **** Kia as a rental . But at least it's covered by the warranty. Haha.

Try a pig tail connector. Also, sometimes the problem is atually the Crank sensor, it is fooling the computer to think the CAM sensor is bad instead.
