well here's the thing i have a 2003 dodge neon R/T... and i pushed a piece of my diff out the bottom of the case and now it doesnt **** at all. so i'am wondering if i can put an sxt or PT transmission in it or something!!! ive been trying to search for one of these forever now and i can only find one used for 1100. so i need some help here. if you have advice at all that'd be amazing too!
In other words, the differential came apart and blew out the case. Yes you can use a transmission from a SXT or a PT. You may need to use the torque converter from your old transmission and make sure the pin connections are the same too.
Ok this is an R/T and is also a 5 speed. I was told the only thing that would fit or bolt up to the block was another r/t trans. Since the 1st 3rd and 5th gear ratios are differen... So with that being said where do I find the parts if I'm going to rebuild this or even buy a new one...
There are only two different standard transmissions for Neons. THe T350 is used on all non-SRT models, while the T850 which has different gear ratios and a limited slip differential is used in SRTs. The R/T uses the T350 tranny, if I'm not mistaken. Although, even if it didn't a T350 should bolt up to the block.
