correct me if i am wrong
just got my AEM CAI installed. On the instructions there is a big warning says to use exteme caution when driving in rain (since there is no splash gaurd). Is the only thing i need to worry about is the filter being completey submurged? (note: i dont have a bypass valve, which correct me if i am wrong again, is what is used to solve this problem)

With my CAI...its right behind the fog light so mine is pretty well sheltered down there. Yeah, the bypass is to suck air in if the case your CAI starts sucking up water. I believe they hinder performance though. For the most part you just need to worry about submerging the filter.

RE: correct me if i am wrong
You should see all the water I drive through in the winter.....it snows, it melts, it rains, it snows again. I try to avoid puddles if I can just because I don't like the thought of my car sucking up water. But the fact of the matter is there is a splash shield down there blocking a good portion of rain and snow. So for the most part I don't worry a whole lot about it. I just watch for large areas of standing water.
