i installed obx headers on my car it changed the sound dramatically. i felt a difference. now i dont have a cat. converter. so now my engine light is on. so im guessing i need one or the o2 sensors. but yeah its a good power gainer.

for neon03se, you need a downstream 02 sensor. The stock sensor screws into the cat. If its an aftermarket it verys. mine is just below the cat. Really it can be in eather place. The point of the two sensors is the upper one measures the air/fuel ratio, then adjusts the pcm as needed, the lower sensor measures the air/fuel again to ensure the cat is stopping any excess fuel from going into the exhaust system. So eather in the cat or after. This is why the defouler thing works, it moves the sensor out of the air flow but still gets enough flow to think it is working.
The other bonus of doing it the right way is two things.... one our small n/a engines need thier backpressure.... i dont care what anyone else says they HAVE to have it to run correctly. Second when you throw any emmissions code it put the ecu into limp mode so that the bad emmissions are reduced and you fell a noticable diffrence and will get it fixed.
And yes the limp mode is true it comes from a 15 year ASE & Chrysler certified mechanic. The GM of the service department at my local dealership. (also my uncle)

so this should solves all issues with this hole downpipe thing...... point being dont use the down pipe, get a high flow cat put in it, and keep the car running and sounding a+++++!!

I was wondering which header any of you might recommend. The OBX short tube header and test pipe or the OBX long tube header. With either choice I want to/plan onremove the catalytic converter. Here are two ebay auctions with pictures if there is any confusion as to which headers I am inquiring about. Those of you who have purchased the OBX headers how much did you give for them, and where might be a good place to check on prices.

If your going to remove the cat anyways, the longtube is the way to go, even though there are better brands for LTH's then OBX.

MPx, the discontinued FastFabs V1 or V2, or Kirk for LTH's...OBX is pretty good, as is the price, i'm just saying there are better products out there.

No, there wont be any problems if your running a short tube header to a high flow cat...your not really gaining anything from the high flow cat, but your not losing anything either.

The MPX long tube header is the best LTH on the market. It's the only Stainless Steel Long tube header out there for a good price.

well my main question is, i have a cat, should my car still be throwing that code? from the way you guys have been experiencing things, it seems as though when you had the downpipe you got the code, but when you replaced it with a cat, you didn't throw any more codes. like i said i have a cat and everything and i'm still throwing the code (cat is pretty new got it 3 months ago). some people say that i need either a new cat or sensor, but i don't like the idea of spending money on parts when i am just gettin the run around. anyone else have this problem? also, where exactly is the second 02 sensor supposed to be located, inside the cat or after?
if i read this right you say that you have the cat right now but in your previoud posts you had put your downpipe w/o the cat on, and thats when you started throwing the code... well i know that O2 Sensors are very very sensitive and if you had it hanging around outside of the cat then my thought is that you might have damaged the sensor..... it could be that it got heated up outside of the exhaust pipe thus fouling it, or it could have banged into something...... if i were you i would consider having the sensor itself checked out and if need be replacing it....
