As far as stock 4 cylinders go, the Impreza WRX STi is the fastes stock car you will get. 300 HP and AWD meaning your not going to get the ridiculous amount of spinning we get with our Neons. It would take a lot of modification to keep up with an Impreza in a Neon. Even the SRT-4 would be well beaten by the Impreza WRX STi.

 

i dont understand why some folks seem to think a stock srt4 is some kind of god of the road. they are pocket rockets for sure but by no means does this make them the fastest thing out there. same thing goes for many rides, especially many mustang owners who think they are unbeatable.

 

The SRT-4 is a great sport compact from the factory. Straight from factory there's nothing in its class that will beat it. I emphasize IN ITS CLASS, STOCK. That means Civics, Cavs, Sunfires, and those kind of car. They're not the greatest car ever made. Mid-class sedans quite often come with 250+ HP nowadays. It's all what you make it. The stocker is going to get beat by the guy who's put $5000 into their car. He's going to get beat by some guy with $25000 into his car. And they're all going to get beat by some rich guy in his Ferrari that gets driven once a year on a perfectly clear day after the street sweepers have been out. Unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars, don't start comparing cars. You will never be happy with what you have because there will always be people that can beat you. Just build you car so it's fun for you, and don't bother blowing all your money to get ridiculous horsepower out of your Neon, because it will just get you bigger speeding tickets. On a small, light car like the Neon, I honestly can't see any practical use for more than 250 HP on the road. You want to beat everybody? Become an F1 racer.

Yes, that is true, and if all cars were limited to FWD and 4 cylinders than the SRT-4 could truly be considered a very fast car. In the real world, however, not all cars are 4 cylinder and not all cars are FWD, so while the SRT-4 is a fairly fast car, it's not particularly special, other than for the good price to speed ratio.

 

Srt-4 under 20 grand..wrx sti 30+?? nuff said..you want to spend that kinda money on an sti why not just ride in style and by a damn lexus is300 at 30 grand or used for 20-30? idk i might be wrong but i kinda dont care what dumb *** kid can beat me in his car his money and daddy bought him for his birthday...I just laugh when i see all these cars wrecked.

It would be more appropriate to say its very quick for any FWD car...

 

Not to rag on ya or anything but I do believe that a 6-cyl Tiburon would beat cha (especially if it was riced out) .......providing the only upgrades you got are the ones listed in ur signature. Could it have been a 4-cyl version? If it was the 4-banger then I could see it but if it's a six no way.....
