Subwoofers and amps what do you all have in your neons?
Ive got an 02 neon es with a xenon body kit on it...ill try to get some pics up soon..anyways Inside it i have a legacy red series amp 2400 watts and 2 12" 1000 watt dual voice coil Volfenhag subs (german competition subs) they shake my neon! I love messin with the audio and cuzstomozing my car!!
so far i have an Xplod deck (i really like it, many people don't like sony), a 400w Alpine amp, 2 12" Alpine Type-E Subwoofers, 2 Alpine Type-S 3 Way 6X9's in the rear, 2 Alpine Type-S 6.5 in front, and thats all for now. I am looking to upgrade the deck to the alpine with a lil screen on it, not sure the model #, i really love my system i think it sounds great! The stock system does sound really good for a factory system though, just wanted to upgrade everything. If any one is interested i have a 12" Kicker Comp C12 in a ported box for sale! pm me if you want pics or details
All I have in my trunk is 2 12" punch in a bandpass box with a 800 watt MTX amp, sounds good and still leaves enough room for groceries.
I went cheap but it sounds really good in my opinion!! 2 polk db104 10s, Infinity 311a 347 watt amp, and running a 400 watt VR roadmaster to the factory front 6 speakers. Everyone that has heard it comments on how loud and how hard it hits, all total I have like $400.00 in it including all wiring and loc unit. I have the amps mounted to the seat backs. no pics though.
My audio setup:
MTX 10" 400w Subwoofer, MTX 500w Sub Amp,
Infinity reference 6-1/2" Front and 6x9" Rear speakers,
Jensen 160w 7" Fully motorized flip up touch screen CD, DVD, MP3,WMA, ipod Compatible Deck
All in all, brand new parts for just about 1000 bones.
Don't really see a point in upgrading any further either.
If I crank the system and have the amp boost level above 60%, my right ear goes deaf.
Plays movies well too.
My only gripe with it is the fact that I HAVE to have the E-brake fully engaged to watch DVD's.
I wonder if there is a way to fix that..... [sm=badbadbad.gif]

well, thank God no one said they had Sony subs/amp....worst crap there is.
Anyway, I currently have Stock Stereo, Stock front speaks, Rear speaks are disconnected because they are not needed. 300 Watt Jensen Amp(soon to be replaced by 425 watt Pheonix Gold Xenon400.1 amp). and 2 Resonant Engineering RE8 Subs in a custom built 1.5 cuft ported box tuned to 35hz. Doesn't get ultra loud, but I had a friend meter it for me 131db on the dash, and 133.3db in the kick. It can set of car alarms if the car is close enough. Also, IF I drop the rear drivers seat back, thats where the amp is mounted, then when I play it at full volume, my rearview mirror ends up pointing towards the floor...lol.
IF anyone wants to know anything else about the system, or just wants to talk car audio, my aim is REAudiobass or I can often be found at the www.ecoustics.com car audio forums, usually in the subwoofer section

Headunit: Premier DEH-P880PRS
Front Stage: Infinity Perfect 5.25" Components (Kick Panels)
Infinity Perfect 6.5" Components (Doors)
Subs: (2) 10" Infinity Perfects in as big of a custom ported box as I could fit firing into the car (fiberglass)
Amps: Alpine MRP-F450 4 Channel for the components
Alpine MRP-M850 for the subs (about 1100 Watts @ 2-ohm)
I also took out all of the seats and carpet and laid down dynomat over the entire car...I was surprised more so with the reduction in wind noise than anything. Overall, it's simple and clean and I'm happy for at least 6 months, lol...
