Default Spoiler question!! (and air filter question)

Alright.

I have the oppertunity to put a light weight spoiler on my car.
Its amazingly similar to the stock spoiler on the Stratus. The pilons line up with holes in the trunks metalwork / ribbing.
Bare in mind, I have a Neon SE. So there never was a spoiler on it to begin with.....
I want the spoiler not just for looks but to give the *** end a little more downforce at high speed.

Now, how effective would this low (stratus) spoiler be. Or should I get something that sits higher?.

Before anyone says it. No. I dont want one of the Neon spoilers. I think they look rediculouse, the *** end looks bad enough with that "Handle" loking spoiler sitting on it.

On another note.
Any one know if theres an Apexi filter that will fit in the Neon?

Bootom line is that you will never need a functional spoiler on a Neon. Pick one that you like the looks of.

Yea for real, you'll never drive fast enough to even make enough downforce to affect the handling. If get some pics of it that'd be great.

why do you need an Apexi filter? can't you just get a k&n that will fit the tubing in the stock airbox?

Actualy, as far as spoilers go.... The correct spoiler does effect handeling.
Get a really efficient one and it will effect your handeling at 20mph upwards. Of course, thats a carbon fiber 25sgft spoiler. But any kind of spoiler will effect handeling. Specaly on a neon with that nasty fat *** it has.
Of course, I mention the ugly, *** end... A nice spoiler wouldnt hurt that... LOL

I was going to get a Stratus non-lighted wing like the standard 06' model for $95.
But, Im getting something more like this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...o-20/ref=nosim
But the one Im getting is lighted.. or rather, has prevision for lights... and Im paying $60 for it.

SCORE!

The filter?
Because the Apexi filter out performs the K&N filters.
The Apexi filter doesnt need oiling, so wont cover the intake in oil (over time).
The Apexi has a way longer life than the K&N.

Huh, I kind of like the Neon stock spoiler on mine, I guess to each his own.

apexi filter? for an extra .00001 hp i dont think its a good idea. go with the AEM dryflow if your concerned about oiling the filter cuz they dont have to be. for the wing i dont think ull go fast enough to provide downforce, just go with one that u like

No need to be rude. IF he is wrong, the correct way to go about it isn't to tell him he's an idiot. For the record, yes, a spoiler WILL affect the handling, but not to any degree where it's worth worrying about functionality more than looks.
