wait... please explain the problem a bit more. A typical ram air as you have will add a fair amount of noise, but performance is limited to... I want to say around 2-3 hp. So, with that it will make a fair bit of noise but with not a lot of power to back it up.
If you mean by the engine is bogging down you might want to double check your vacuum hose lines around the intake to make sure they are where they should be and are on good and tight.
Good Luck.

first off you have a short ram intake, and what do you mean by it seems it needs to be faster?. and there will be a noise coming from the intake because you took the resonator out, which helps muffle the sound a little bit.
yes it will make it run better, but you won't see an extreme amount of power. when dealing with bolt-ons, you will never put one on and then yyour car will fly. it will run better and be a little aster, but without extensive work, only so much can be done...go pvc its way cheaper lol
Wow, your really new at the tuner scene arn't you. Anyway not to be mean but get a CAI and a maganflow catback exhaust, stop there and then just get tint, maybe a kit and audio/video things done to your car. If you want power get a turbo, but I dont think you anywhere near ready for that.
hey, we were all new once... hell I still dont know everything there "is" to know.
Hey man, a CAI will help... but they dont call them puddle suckers for nothing. They do sit low, and if you live in someplace that has a tendancy to "flood" or gets a lot of rain such as oregon you should stick with the short ram.
A CAI will give you a few more ponies than your short ram, and here is the reason:
A short ram free's up the intake system the same as a CAI would, but the increased power doesn't just come from a more free'd up intake system, ut more from the cooler air that is collected. A cold air intake takes air from outside the car's hood into the engine, where as a short ram takes up the already heated air from the engine compartment (see the problem?). So, with a CAI, you free up the system AND get COOL fresh air into the engine which inturn gives better combustion.
There is your reason for getting a CAI. Nothing is wrong with your short ram however. The cost to purchase a CAI now that you have a RAM isnt worth the benefits. You'd see maybe like 2 HP... so I would wait till you have maybe a full exhuast system to re-think your intake situation.
