Pennzoil does not list a 0W-30 but PP has numerous times shown better used oil analysis than RP. However there are a some good RP samples too. Just almost all PP ones are fantastic.
Send me a case! [sm=signs007.gif]

Same here. I've asked a lot about the "Q" but it seems like not that many people have really tried it yet... ?

Ihave heard that using quaker state over time can build up as wax inside the oil passage ways and restrict flow because of what quaker state is made from, thats just what i have heard...... I just switched from royal purple to pennzoil platinumwhich i highly recomend. Ive only had it in one day and my car feels alot happier and idles better with the thinner 5w-20 i put in. I also noticed that the temp gauge runs slightly lower with the PP 5w-20(or maybe just my imagination lol).

Hey tyler819 that is just another SOPUS product. So anyway that wax thing Normally attributed to Pennzoil (dino only back then) and has not been an issue since the 70's. Forget the BS hate a fear crap. Everything is too highly refined to have that issue.

SOPUS Products is the company name Penzoil-Quaker State Company began doing business under in 2003 when Shell Oil bought them back in 2002.

Hmm okay, well I guess then my next question would be how close in reliability are the Quaker State Q and Pennzoil Platinum synthetics? Any bets that they're about the same then?

SOPUS

Shell Oil Products United States

Shell owns Pennzoil which owns Quaker State

Over at BITOG from a recently retired Pennzoil guy apparently they compete more than co-operate but since Shell is now supplying Pennzoil with top notch Group III base stocks for their Pennzoil Platinum I can only assume the same is true of the Quaker State stuff. Same base oil in the Shell Helix for the F1 cars. Good stuff. Now the add packs change a bit but are just different recipes for several good pies if you know what I mean.

The same Absolutely not. Performa about the same you bet. Will either one do a great job. I am sure of that.
