Default more rebuild problems

ok i got everything back together and the engine starts but it says the alternator is out. where does the charge wire hook to? cause i didn’t see one when i hooked the starter wire up. it was just a single cable from the battery. also i have a ticking sound. i replaced the head on the car. it sounds like the rocker arms and im not sure what to do.. and also im having another problem. when i cut the headlights on the right blinker light on the instrument panel stays on and that blinker wont work. the odometer is flashing
“fuse” when you cut the key on but i checked all the fuses and there all good.. what could be causing this problem?

Edit: could that ticking be caused by the knock sensor not working right? it hasnt thrown a code for it.. also do i need to take a scanner and make the computer relearn the crank and cam? the battery was unhooked for a year so i figured it will relearn everything when i fired it up. is that right?

when i did my motor, i had alot of the same things.... ended up i put the crank sensor in the wrong place causeing the timing to be way off and had piston slap....... switched that sensor and fixed the ticking...... then i did not put the ground wire on the alt. fixed that and was good to go. As for the ticking, neons do have a normal ticking but if it is very loud at all DONT run the car, if it is piston slap you will destroy your pistons. best bet i would say, if you cant find the problem, pull the wire harness back off and start over. Takes some time but that is better then blowing the motor!!

yeah i had some problems finding where all the grounds go. where on the auntator is the ground wire at? it would happen to be a ground strap thats connected to the passesngers side strut would it? cause i seen that hanging last night but didnt know thats where it went if thats what its for.. the ticking is not real loud. it sounds like a desiel engine when its idaling but when you rev it up it dont get louder. ill recheck my wiring harness's. the car is giving codes P1682 and P1684 but i looked in alldata and it says 1682 is the alt. and 1684 is the pcm has been cleared within the last 50 starts. if the plugs where in the wrong spot it would thorw a code huh? on another note what could cause the odmiter to flash fuse? I check all the fuses under the hood by the battery and the ones in the drivers side dash panel and there all good. when i cut the headlights on the right blinker light is on without the switch being on and the turn light on the front of the car is real bright. and when you cut it on it doesnt work.. but the left works fine. one main question im having is where does the ground wire go thats on the end of the injector harness? its got a nut built on the end of it and i cant find the stud it screws on to.. so i just attached it to the head. other then that i think everything is good. gotta glob some gasket sealent on the back of the valve cover cause its leaking.

well i took the valve cover off last night and found out 2 of the bolts that hold the rocker arms down in the middle are striped and they wont tighten up.. so thats prolly where my tapping is comming from. the head was used and stupid me didnt check them bolts before i put the head on cause it was all assembled already. so im just gonna go size them bolts and get the size up from that one and rethread the wholes and that should fix that tapping problem.

I didnt get a chance to look at the ault ground wire cause it was dark and i haft to take the front tire off to get to that ground strap. hopefully that will fix my problem with it not charging.

The fuse light flashing and the blinker i have still not be able to figure out yet. yall think it could be the flasher relay?

the alt grond wire connects to the alt, next to the poer wire! The fuse lite is yous "BUS" fuse, it should be the one under your hood and has the plastic clip on it. ushally the clip is red, blue or yellow, it looks like a puller but it is a pain to get out but thaat should solve it!!
