You can use a shorter filter, or even slightly smaller in diameter...... just alters the way it fits under the hood. (taller would probably run out of clearance.)
You will need a "S" bolt to mount that though. Did it come with one?

I read the DIY thread for it. The kit comes with the threaded bolt that I'll have to bend and I already picked out the VC breather. I'll probably just go with a Spectre 14x3 filter then since its like half the price of the K&N. I shouldn't have clearance issues with the 14x3 since I have a body lift I assume. Thanks guys.

I didn't have clearance issues without a body lift but, depending on how your throttle cables are run, you may need a riser.
I couldn't seat my 14x3 flush properly because the cables run directly in the path the 14x3 needs in the front.

So from reading through this, would switching from a K&N Drop in to a 14x3 be worth while?
Already have Hughes Airgap, 52mm TB and doing new exhaust next week, just not sure if I would need the extra flow
