honestly... never really considered fixing it... i just bought the truck about a month ago and when i got it i just made a list of all the stuff that needed to be replaced. so i guess i've been focus more on replacing parts than just fixing them...

From experience I have learned that I prefer to repair what I have (if it can be done) instead of replacing it. I have had many cars and done many replacements and for some reason after market parts are always just a hair bit off from the stock parts. They never look or fit exactly the same. If it is the same or cheaper to repair your bumper, I would recommend that. A replacement bumper you may have to deal with bolts being slightly off or chrome having blemishes in it or any number of things. I have had bumpers rechromed and trust me there is nothing like a newly chromed bumper. Some of these others may be made in China and their process may not be as good as a local shop. Look at the after market head lights that a lot of the guys here have. They don't fit the same as the stockers. That is just one example.

Dont pay for their overpriced crap. You could get the same chinese bumper on eBay for $50.

Ron, Have you tried junkyards? Mine has a bunch.

A little box from Hughes Engines arrived today,(a day early ) in it was an MSD 8228 coil and the adapter from Accel. THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE STOCK COIL TO THE BRACKET SUCK!! That being said, after grinding off the heads and using my trusty vice grips to back the remains of the bolts out, the installation couldn't have been easier. I would have taken pics and make it a DYI, but I was done before my daughter could retrieve my camera. The harness adapter is plug and play, and has a nice weatherpak connector to the coil.

After a quick trip to the "Interstate Dyno", I noticed a nice little bump under WOT. Same with off the line acceleration. Nothing earth shattering, but a hair more pep. My Bottom Line, a nice upgrade from stock, makes a little better use of good cap, plugs, and wires. If you are looking for a happy medium between stock and an MSD box or system? I recommend it, around 80 bucks with shipping from Hughes.

And scored a nice black Hughes t-shirt for 4 dollars off due to promo on their site.
