Well, first post in this thread (I don't do much to my rust bucket anymore except for put gas in it). Anyway, I patched the oil pan Monday. Had oil pouring from the right side due to rust (go figure).

Made a patch about 7" x 7", scrapped the scale off, created another hole, cleaned with MEK and immediately smeared urethane over the holes, ground rust and paint from pan and welded the patch in. It covers dam near the whole sump on the side.

After getting it welded in I took more urethane and covered the weld real good then covered the entire patch. Finished up by changing the over-due oil and filter.

Should be good until the other side goes.

Saved $100 on a new pan and gasket though.

Most of the rust reared it head after I bought it. Besides, WTF does it matter to you!!!!

Not to mention it got rid of the Deathflash and BS 40 mph OD lockup. So, again...

Hopefully it won't need scrapped too soon. I got the BMW for dd, so the Dodge should last a few more years. There's nothing wrong with it mechanically. It's just the body. It is now just a work/plow truck. Doesn't need to look pretty. Until the frame breaks or the cab falls off, it'll get worked.
