I have no way to prove it nor can I say its the cause but they seem to fail when the gas stations switch there fuel for the season, spring or fall.

Done job, I have this down to 1 hr via dropping the tank.

Tank out and cleaned inside, ready for the new pump.

Good stuff Merc. Are you going to have to clock the tcase down?

Got the rear drive shaft retubed. All put back in. Drives fine.

Earlier I had replaced the seal on the Tcase tail shaft housing, which also involved new rtv on the mating surface b/t housing and tail. Verified no leak. However, looks like the output housing original rtv is leaking, albeit very slowly. Just very annoying.

I haven't looked in the FSM yet. Is it a PITA to remove that and resurface with RTV? Any other seals a good idea to replace?

Filled up my pickup with 91. Then tried out the 91 tune and I like that tune a lot lol. Haven't figured the mileage yet but the power is pretty cool. Just wish the price on that fuel was cheaper.

I would guess you should pick up a solid 3" over your 7" springs on the conservative side, but factor in the heavier diesel spring rate and it might be even more

Thanks, Yes I will be clocking the t case and possible crossmember mods as well, also looking into a 74-81 chevy front DS.

Not hard at all black rtv is fine red is better.
