You're gonna replace it with the bearing set? I'm sure you're aware it can be replaced with a plastic bushing, but I've never heard any opinions on which would be the better replacement. I'm also replacing mine today or tomorrow with bearings along with both passenger side axles but have often wondered if the bearing was the better choice of the two.

I went with the bearing over the poly/nylon/whatever bushing. Having the diff on a rack (for lack of better word) made this job ez, I think it would have been a pita with it under the truck. Instead of a seal install tool for this work I made up a nut/bolt/washer/plate set-up that let me press this in over using a hammer, should work well for doing the seal. Pix of the tool later.

Took the 76 on it's first drive in about 2 weeks.

Still tears the tires up.
I love that truck.

I'm almost afraid to ask.....but what kind of gas mileage does your 76 get? Is it under 10? I've been eyeing a Ramcharger one my neighbor has for sale....

Looks like a true fixer upper....but a fun project truck

I think it's around 7 in town. Which isn't too bad, but I haven't really gotten a good estimate. It might be closer to 6.

You gotta remember, I've also got a 4 barrel and a big block, so I drive it like such.

That RC looks nice, drip rail looks messed up and the rockers, but other than that, doesn't look too bad. It's likely got a 318 or 360 in it. If that's the case, hopefully with a 4 barrel.
