Took the truck in for a car wash for the first time (since ive owned it for 2.5 yrs). Apparently it doesn't like car washes cuz my tps took a crap in the middle of the wash and died twice on the way home. And i dont know about your guys' trucks but mine is near impossible to steer with the engine off, I suspect somethings off somewhere cuz the steering wheel barely moves with engine off. Nearly hit a stop sign because my brakes are junk as well.
So, replaced the tps and its all set.
Also found out the hard way that my fuel gauge doesn't work too well. Truck died last weekend with what seemed to be an 1/8th of a tank. Fuel pump sounded like it didnt prime (guess it was just being quiet from no fuel?) and pressure was 10psi when i started it with starting fluid. Dropped the tank only to find out its just filled with air. And what was also cool was that my tank straps just folded in half when i took them off. Ratchet straps should hold for now

Yah when my truck wouldn't start at Walmart one day because of corroded battery terminals. The tow truck driver put in "Neutral" and said turn the wheel when you get near the tow truck. I literally had to put all my weight into turning the steering wheel with the engine off.I just pray I never have a brake failure to where I have to turn off the engine.Same with the brakes and the engine is off, they don't seem to grab at all.
Been there, done that at 45mph with traffic behind me.
It sucks but I pushed through both.

I was moving at about 30 when the engine kicked off. Using all my strength, the wheels barely move. Might be something to do with the fact Ive been running with a leaking gear box and have run low on fluid plenty of time. Brakes grab just fine but grind at a certain point and sorta kick as if abs was enabled.. I need new rear brakes and the fronts have cheap pads and rotors, so that doesnt help me any.

You young twerps have no experience with vehicle that had manual steering or manual brakes. My first car was a 1985 Plymouth Volaire that had manual steering and manual brakes. If more cars were built like that tail gating would be non-existent due to the increase in the stopping distance required to slow the vehicle. Hell, my 2002 Cavalier was equipped with both, which I thought was the dumbest thing in the world.
No wonder today's males, under 30, are such girly men.

That's because your truck has power assist steering and power brakes. The steering pump aids in making steering effortless and the vacuum assist is what enables the brake system to operate at just a light touch.
You young twerps have no experience with vehicle that had manual steering or manual brakes. My first car was a 1985 Plymouth Volaire that had manual steering and manual brakes. If more cars were built like that tail gating would be non-existent due to the increase in the stopping distance required to slow the vehicle. Hell, my 2002 Cavalier was equipped with both, which I thought was the dumbest thing in the world.

Thats pure awesome there, I dont think ive ever driven anything that big before. Ram would be the biggest me thinks

lol, that was back when I had to pull on the steering wheel whenever I clutched, now I'm heavy enough when clutching I don't have to use the steering wheel as a aid but I still get off the seat to clutch... that tractor is long gone now. now I have a 15000lb tractor with awesome power steering and power brakes
