My used winch is a Ramsey 2000 12, it seems rather heavy. Will my suspension on a 1500 DODGE be able to handle the weight? Anyone know about these winches are they supposed to have a remote control?

Most winches will have a remote. Some wired, some wireless. Might wanna look it up on Ramsey's site, and get one. You don't want to be RIGHT by the winch while it is in operation.

Folks hang winches off the front of lighter duty vehicles without issue. If it squats to much for your tastes, just swap for heavier springs. (3/4 or 1 ton springs.)

Today... Cursed it's name. Can't figure out my stalling/no start issue. But it will fire right up like nothing happened a couple minutes later. Checked fuel pressure, relays. Cursed it's name again...

Actually, I find that to be one of the drawbacks of being the only one among my circle of friends that has a truck...... Whenever there is something large/heavy to be moved.... they immediately think of me. I will drive, but, I don't do heavy lifting any more...... Just not in my job description any longer.

Lots of women want my body. Trouble is, they want it upright, clothed, and carrying something.......

Put a new set of shoes on the 98 Ram. I went mud this time, I've always wanted a set more for off road than highway. They look great and ride much better than I expected. The drawback, if any..............they sing at 55, if I were to believe the speedo, (was accurate).

They are 32X11.50X15 Mud. I traversed up the back logging road and they pull fine in 4 low and I have not tried them in 4 high. Of course we are in a dry spell with rivers, creeks and ponds down, so untested until the rain hits. K.

Edit, I almost went with Duratracs (redneck ram), but went to Big O's for a set of Mud Claws. Big O Tires threw in 6 new chrome lug nuts with purchase as the others were nicked.
