put the factory air filter back on today with a purolator pure one filter. ditched the 14x3, as it was a bit easier to deal with the factory housing.

also saw a wet spot under my truck, turns out the filter for my remote trans filter rusted thru... oh well, easy enough fix! pl20195 filter will be bought tomorrow!

just glad i caught it now, rather than driving down the road and the transmission going out on me cause it leaked out everywhere.

You really should change that filter a bit more often.

I know it sounds like I'm fueling a good bit, it's the 98 gasser. I've been working it & driving it a bit more and with just a 26 gallon tank and an average of 12.5 MPG's, I fill about every 250 miles. The good news is, since replacing Idle control and a bad temp sensor plus running 89 Octane, I've gone from 10 mpg's city to 12.5 average-city. I know 89 Octane is more expensive, but it runs better and gets better MPG's. Just some feed back. K.

Making a run in the diesel tomorrow, hoping for 18 no load and 12 loaded on return with a flip.

I drove my new 97 Laramie 1500 to the Little Big Horn in MT @ 60 mph got 14.9 to 16 mpg with 3.73 gears. I'm happy, used about a qt to 500 miles but that's cheaper than $$$ fixes. My old 97 Laramie got as high as 19 @ 55 mpg 3.55 axle. Interestingly my 01 1200 2 wheel only pulled 10-12 for the 3 years I owned it, go figure

Spent all day welding, sanding and painting a roll bar that I will be putting in my truck. From an 80's chevy but after a little fab work, it fits like it came factory. Cannot wait. Ordered 4 KC daylighter lights for it as well. Let there be light!!!

Swamped the dodge today on an offroad trip. Water was a little deeper than anticipated. After my truck broke down we decided to leave it but then got stranded when we got stuck and the winch and high lift jack failed. Walked 5km at midnight in 3' of swamp.

Anybody got advice for me? Water was deeper than I thought and the truck started bogging and stalled. Got towed out before starting it. Turns over fine but runs extremely rough. It's not hydro locked. I think my coil is wet. Has a hard time to stay idling and can't even spin my tires. Put it in gear and it just bogs and stalls.
