Little bit of both. First one I ever did was a 73 Plymouth Scamp. Me and my buddy picked it up for 800 bucks, put new brakes on it, and he worked some magic on the carburetor. I told him to park it at the top of his driveway with $4,000 in the window just for sh*ts and grins, 3 days later a guy handed us $3,800 and was driving away in it. That was 2 years ago, and it never left my mind just how easy it was. Started doing it again in February. Picked up a 4Runner for $1,200 put new spark plugs, wires, coil packs in it and it sold it for $2,800. Every vehicle I've picked up required less than $400 worth of work, with the exception of the Sierra, which I had to have the hood painted, and a new motor and clutch put in.

What's that silver ****'d stick for? Floorshift for the auto? Manual VB? Just curious...

I drove it this weekend... was too hot outside for the S10 and its lack of air conditioning.

The Ram finally rolled over 250,000 miles!

Went to use the Ram to jump start the lawn mower, turned over the key (in the Ram) and nothing, not even a click.

Long story short, replaced the battery cable terminal bolts on the positive terminal. All is good now.

I had a lawn mower that the only way to start it was to jump the starter solenoid directly lol.

I rewired it with a push button start and toggle switch on and off with the intent to sell it but the trans axle was bad so I just scrapped it.

It had been sitting for a while.

The mower battery is toast, won't hold a charge, I'm just too cheap to replace it, too much uncertainty as to our future and not enough mowing season left to care

That is the shifter for his Black Box underdrive unit. What it does is give him an extra set of gears to use along with the transfer case. So now he has 5 gear ratio's to play with.

Gear choices:
2WD rear high
2WD rear low
4WD high
4WD low
4WD double low (7.4)

And Transfer case low and Black Box low so now you have a doubler making your low range REALLY LOW so you can crawl when needed.
Here are some of the companies that make these underdrive units.

Then next you have 2 companies that make a kit where you use a NP231 transfer case and cut the front output off and you now have a gear reduction box.

D D Machine

This is a simple kit that takes a np231 Transfer case and makes a low cost crawl box out of it, It uses the front half of a NP231 case that you provide and in about a hour or so of work you can have a crawl box that will lower your gearing by 2.73 to 1 ...
Just take a 231 case with the right input spline count to fit your trans output
(21 or 23 spline for the jeep guys) and (27 spline for the GM guys) and pull it apart , lay the big plate on the front casting and mark it about 1/2 inch "PAST" the left edge of the plate and cut it there, then file or grind the block off plate that comes in the kit to fit where you cut it off. Next tig weld the block off plate to the front casting, And thats it!

Its just that simple to make a crawl box ( doubler ) out of a np-231

I can't find the info on the other guy who was making the DIY doubler kits but the D&D kit is top notch.

Here is a link to a thread about the two kits done over on Pirate. It is a good read about each kit.

WK,
I have the same cup holder from Geno's in my truck and had one in my 2nd gen too. I really like them plus I have their CB radio mount that they sell. I also had one of those in my 2nd gen rig.

I can't use the cupholder that mounts to the center seat back...... it is constantly flipped up, because that is where my dog sits......

^Either HeyYou has the air on, or the dog doesn't like the window. Drove the gasser today, back needed a break from the nerf bar on the Cummins. If I have to go in to town with more than 4 stops I'll take the 1500, (no nerf bar needed). Picked up 5 gallons of weed killer refills at Walmart and took them to the barn. K.
