I do like carrying mud, but it does seem to have a drinking problem with the gasoline, that's ok though. I do like my 97, it's a keeper!

I would REALLY like to know what materials you used, and your method for that.... Mine is in horrid condition. (the dogs didn't help matters either.)

Mine was sagging a few inches in some places so I know how you feel.

I first removed the whole headliner. Just take off everything attached to it (visors, lights, handles). Get it out of the truck. Rip off the old fabric, make sure to just rip it off the headliner and padding.

I went to Joann Fabric and got the cheapest beige sheet I could find, with coupon it was $5. Not a perfect match but looks good to me. I believe it was a 4x6 sheet.

At Walmart or really any store find an aerosol can of Fabric Glue. I sprayed glue on the headliner board about a foot at a time and smoothed it out then worked on the next foot. Once its glued down flip it over and glue the edges over the side that will meet with the roof. The only two holes I had to cut triangles in and fold over to the back was the hole for the cab light, and the overhead console. The rest I just poked with a knife and was able to reassemble in the truck that way. Beats paying $300 for a new headliner. I think there are also some youtube videos on replacing the headliner. Let me know if you have any questions. Not time for a fix to the dash crack...

Here is a video:
However, I left the padding on the headliner and just replaced the fabric.

I've done that very thing in a few vehicles, and the glue lasted at best two years before the fabric started drooping again. I'll be curious to know how long yours holds up. Maybe fabric glue has improved over the years.

Last vehicle I did it on I used some adhesive made for pool table fabric and it held up for at least 5 years I know of until I sold it.
