I drove from Adrian Michigan up to Sault St. Marie Michigan, (about 350 miles.) one fall day, to go rescue my brother, whose car had died on the freeway...... (drove a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500, with a car dolly.) We counted over 150 dead deer on the side of the freeway on that trip..... and that was on the way UP. (during the day.) On the trip home, at night....... I lost count of how many deer I saw attempting to cross the freeway..... But, about 10 miles south of the Mackinaw bridge, you get into "wilderness", there is very little around, except trees. And a boatload of deer. Made the number of dead ones a little more understandable....

That's a lot of dead deer.

We hit most of our stuff on country roads though so there's quite a difference from 50 compared to 70mph

Well it seems the past week has been bad for a few of us. I know my truck isn't a 2nd Gen but you guys are family. I've shared some of the snow pictures with you guys so you know we have had a little bit of the white stuff. We have a new company plowing our road this year and the kid doing it doesn't know how to turn the plow and not put a berm in front of your driveway. I was pulling into my driveway the other day and as I did because of the amount of snow my truck started to slide sideways. Well into the ditch I went!!
Took out both front and rear fender flares and put a nice dent into the side of the truck, scratched the truck up and broke the CB antenna. So I am not a happy camper at this point.

Ooops...... Sorry man.

If it makes ya feel any better......

Was doing some tree work down in Temperance, we had finished the job, and, it was time to go home. I was parked in the middle of the woods, and needed to back up a ways to get to a clear lane so I could escape...... So, back up about 30 yards, without trouble.... Until a TREE JUMPED into my path...... I was watching the OTHER side of the truck, so, didn't notice the suicidal tree until it had made it all the way from the back bumper, to just behind the drivers door...... Couldn't really see any damage on the bed.... (it's not in the best shape to begin with.....) but, there is a nice deep dent, and some serious scratches in the panel behind the drivers door....... I felt like an idiot..... oh well. The cab isn't in the best shape either.....

Wow, that's cheap. I think I paid over 200 for the last one I broke.... (don't ask) I have a nice crack in my current one, and have been reluctant to get it fixed. The crack isn't in my sightline, and after 5 years, I kinda got used to it....)

$196 for safelight to come to me. All gaskets included. I found a promo code online and then got another 25 off since she struggled for a while on getting the wiper arms off until I helped. 3 years in my sight line I finally had enough. If I had to do a state inspection I am sure I would have had to do it sooner

I've heard of plow drivers doing that, but have never lived in a place where they did. But it'd sure be nice to get used to it.

Except when something like that happens. Man, that sucks.
