What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
You need to shift into neutral when you turn the **** when shifting into 4low or drive very slowly when shifting into 4high. The light will flash until it has shifted all the way into 4wd. There is a electric motor that shifts your transfer case and it takes a about 30 seconds to shift. I hope this helps.
Seems my coolant leak is solved. Tried to fix the steering pump leak. Nope. That's what I get for buying Napa a year ago. The high pressure line just will not seal no matter what I do to it.
But I did finally get TOW MIRRORS!!!!! I've wanted these since Bush was in office. Got 'em from 1A Auto and they were easy to install and look great. Taking my summer road trip with them next week.
While in there I replaced the front speakers as well. Old ones I replaced back in 2002 so they did well. So now my system is back to pre-robbery state. Finally. After two years.

Don't know, it's just the stock standard hose and pump like this:

All I did was swap the pump, pulley, and bracket then reattach the low and high lines. This was over a year ago. The high pressure has always had a drip so I added an extra o-ring to the threaded nut (the new pump came with it but the stock one didn't have it). That o-ring didn't help. There is a smaller o-ring that I replaced on the very tip of the pipe.

The re-man pump came with two o-rings, one for the tip and one larger for maybe the nut? I replaced the little one immediately and added the larger one after it leaked. This was last year. It seems as if the orifice isn't as deep as the old pump or something. The threads bottom out before the nut does. Last weekend I unhooked the hose again and removed the larger o-ring to try and seat it better. Hoped for the best. Still leaking. And it's so stiff to steer plus noisy. Once in a while it will suddenly feel lighter like actual power steering then it gets harder again. I even asked Redhead back when everything was new and the guy said he preferred stiff steering. Okay.
Considering Mopars were famous for 'effortless' steering........ Hhhmmm....... I don't want to get a workout from maneuvering in a parking lot. That pump is there for a REASON. Also, it's a TRUCK, not a sports car.
Sounds like you pump isn't really doing the job....... any warranty left on it?

Not sure I think it's been over a year. Must be by now. But also not too excited to replace it with the same Napa reman crud. While it wasn't a horrible job, it wasn't fun either, having to rent the puller and jack the truck, etc. I'd rather get a better pump brand and new hoses but they have to fit right. Not going through this again. I still have the old pump because I remember how the new one didn't change anything so I kept it to swap out. It has play in the shaft so it's no good, right? Maybe it's the T steering with my washer 'mod' that makes it stiff, but why would it steer so easy sometimes? And yeah, parking lots are a workout. Not like no power steering (my grandpa had a 60s chevy with no power steering) but it's not easy.
Just picked up a V10 radiator to install in my 1500. The factory size single core just can't keep up with Austin stop and go traffic and the 100+ degree summer temps. My 390 got up to 220 a couple of days ago and I wasn't pleased. I'll do a full write up with pictures for those interested. Wish me luck! LOL
