Because you don’t want to drowned out the beautiful exhaust note?
well I have plenty of exhaust sounds too. I live in a state that doesn't have emissions testing and the truck is straight piped true duels 2.5 inch pipes from the manifold all the way back to 3.5 inch tips lol. I actually told my wife that I was going make the radio sound as good as the exhaust
Yeah, I get wind noise around the doors, and such. Need to address that too. Get it above about 65mph, and the doors shake, and the wind noise is terrible. Just need to bend the tops of the doors in a bit, methinks.
Can also adjust the striker to help "suck" the door up tighter. Also, new rubber seals help as well. After my truck was broken into, I had to do a lot of tweaking and adjusting with the new latch and handle, plus I put on new seals and road noise got a lot quieter.
Ok guys, after putting those speakers in it kind of felt like the bass was overpowering the high notes a little bit so I installed tweeters. I thought about running it the right way and up the A pillars but then I thought, it would go a lot easier if I just mounted them in the doors. You all know how the interior plastic is in these trucks, and I didn't feel like fighting it today, but I got it done and it added exactly what I was looking for to give it the sound I wanted. Here's the final product, what do you think?

That's where they were installed in 94-97 so I think it looks good
Dropped the transmission pan, adjusted the bands, and installed a new filter. First/reverse are a lot more responsive and the shifts have improved. Based on the amount of crud on the pan magnet, its been a very long time since its been serviced. Happily, there was nothing scary in the bottom of the pan, but I think its probably time to start saving my pennies for a future rebuild.
