What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
Gave her a much deserved wash, cleaned up the engine compartment a little, finally put a air filter housing gasket back on, not sure how long its been running without one, tested out the heater

Truck missing two cylinders on the way to school for my math midterm, so.....
New plugs
New wires
New distributor
New rotor
(Might as well get it all at once, already did the front brakes and an oil change last week).
Turns out the plugs in the truck were Platinum e4's, I'd have bought better replacements than I did had I known, but it's running smooth with regular Platinums. Cylinders 6 & 8 were all gummed up with oil from the plenum leak. The rest of the cylinders looked fine. I towed my boat (4-5000 lbs) the other day up and over a pass, I suspect that's when it got really gummed up.
I pleasantly discovered my bumper is almost perfectly situated as a seat to work on the engine...feet in the winchbox, butt on the rail. I can reach almost all the engine from there, have to lay out over the top of the engine a bit to reach the distributor. It made for some amusing conversations in the Autozone parking lot. (Can't work on the truck at my apartment.)

I assembled a list from Rock Auto and Hughes Engines of the things needed for my new plenum gasket and timing chain. $345. A smorgasboard of DIYs is to come in the months ahead! Plus Harland Sharps from John Mercedes.
Bosch plugs are better in imports, thats the only thing i run in my BMW, nothing else can keep the 2.5 running smooth enough, some engines will cook sparkplugs quickly. Just so happens bosch works great in mine.
But i run autolite in both rams and durango.
