I've been reading about the plenum/gasket issue. But I have none of the symptoms....yet. I don't know, fixing something that isn't broken? The TB looked absolutely clean and the truck starts and runs great. What are the negative consequences?
My Catalytic Converter started going bad first, then I started noticing oil on the spark plugs. I would imagine the intake ports were gunked all to hell, It then started missing and idling horribly. The IAC went out and that was when I finally changed mine. If you take a magnet retrieval tool and put it through the throttle body opening to the plenum pan, if it is magnetic, you have the stock pan. If it isn't then you have aluminum. If it is steel, the gasket will eventually go bad, and will shorten the life of your motor if not dealt with.
Simply put--- Aluminum=GOOD Steel=BAD
It's a good thing you painted it green, otherwise you would have to change your name.
That thing looks good, It looks like it belongs off road.
Ya right!!! if I do it will be in the wide open with no trees, lol, After the paint cures,I had them use a poly clear coat to help reduce scratches,We'll see how it works out. In July the wife and I are going on vacation up to Nags Head and
the Cape we plan on 4 wheeling the beaches.
Thanks, the only two hobbies I have is fishing and my truck and with the cold weather down here this year the fishing sucks so my truck has been getting all my attention lately, after posting the pic's I noticed the black piece on top of the front bumper was hanging down, so I ran out and fixed it.
