Great idea, I'll check. But if the PO just had the stock gasket replaced, the test wouldn't be conclusive. After reading the DIY link on this, I looked things over. Hard to tell for sure, but a couple of the bolts look like they might have been removed once.
Regardless, unless I start having symptoms I won't mess with it.

Thanks! That's the "good side" but if he just replaced the gasket then the pan would still be steel. So the magnet test would for sure tell you without turning a wrench. The intake bolts ALL have to be replaced. They are TTY (torque to yield) I've heard of people replacing with grade 8 but not sure of how that will turn out.

Oh, you weren't talking about my paint. Oh well, It made me feel good LOL

damn almost a full 10 pages since ive been on here. i havent done much to her, other than a buisness sticker on the rear window, and a wash and detail, other than that nothing major. but of course next week im gettin my rims/tires on the truck, and yes i will have pics.

Fought the on going battle with the rust, in the process of replacing my driverside rear shackle. Will post pics when i done.

ripped apart my wiring harness to find 5 bad wires...its spaghetti under my hood right now

Bought a DA polisher and buffed out some major scratches. I need to get my paint code and get some paint to fix the really big ones.

Still have yet to do the whole paint job and get off all the swirl marks. I did only 3 panels today: Right rear bed panel and extended cab panel.

Highly recommend buying a DA polisher and some meguiars ultimate compound of you want to improve your paint job.
