Crawled under and checked u-joints, ended up finding a nice size dent in the drive line. Freeway vibration mystery = solved.

Pulled off the timing cover and checked for the kdp. Luckily it was well seated but I put a longer bolt, couple washers and a piece of bar stock over it for piece of mind. Next on the list.. my FASS pump, and gauges.

Drove 240 miles to Illinois and realized I forgot to tighten one of the rear diff cover bolts. What a mess.

AHHHAAA....found the loud whining sound. Thought it was my water pump and fan clutch. But its my idle pulley. i can woobble it back and forth while belt is on. i took it off, and when i spin it, it hardly moves, the bearings are toast.

Makes me feel better that its just the idler pulley though.

WTF

As for me, I looked under my truck when I got home to see if any oil had dripped on the cardboard that I put under it and sure enough it did. at least I think it did, I noticed a drop of coolant on one of the transmission support brackets. I have to work tonight so I'm not going to mess with it today. I guess I screwed something up when I did the rear main and timing chain.
