Designed and built a new rear bumper from 1/8" safety plate, incorporated two 55watt lights tied into backup light circuit and coated the whole thing with Truck bed coating. Got it bolted on and wired up this afternoon, and it looks great.
wanna send one of those my way? couldve used that when i got rear ended.
Also just ordered a #29 Kevin Harvick for the passenger side. I think my fiance is a little jealous. LOL Also need to do the tailgate in bedcoating. Debating on removing it or leaving it on to coat it. Anyone done this? Which is easier?
take it off , isnt hard just remove cables lift up on one side and pull out ,easy as pie
just make sure you pull out haha ... goes in easy when your done too
lined the rocker panels...used the rustoleum roll on...i'll get to a write up and pics soon
That's next on my list. Not sure if I want to use the roll on or the spray cans. The cans seem to come out smoother than the roll on stuff. Look forward to the write-up.
I left the gate on to do the coating. It was easier for me considering I'm 6'2" and I don't have any saw horses. I'll have to write that down for the next time I'm at Lowe's.
saw the cel come on today. went by autozone and checked it and it came up with an egr system failure. I thought the 99-01s didnt have egr? I need some help but dont want to start a new thread.
Installed the FUPK (K&N FIPK, that is) today and took the old truck out for a joy ride. I'm liking it just fine and it feels like when I get around to doing the Hughes airgap and complete exhaust system it'll help out quite a lot. I also trimmed the bedliner so the BackRack would fit better and got the rack centered so I'm no longer annoyed by seeing it off-center when I look in the rear-view mirror.
Next up is the toolbox which won't be here until the week of the 24th, then no more modding until after we've moved out of state.
