Having some fun in the New farm truck Got ride of the ol 2wd

 

replaced my a/c compressor and half charged her up. workin ok, still need a little more freon, but at 20+ bucks a can its gonna have to wait a few days.

 

Went from 11.86 mpg (It's been that for a long time now) to 12.41 mpg.
The only thing different is a new IAT that I threw on it just to see if it would make a difference. I also did a good bit of idling moving the boat around the yard where I was getting 0mpg.
Lets see if it's just a fluke or not.

 

Got 11.11 mpg!!! Up ffrom 9-10mpg! No change to truck...

 

Pull my spark plugs after 400 mi.
No. 7 and 8 are looking suspicious.

No. 7 has me a bit worried. It looked like part of the insulator tried to chip away.

Also added 1.5 qt of oil.

I need a new plenum

 

Got some new tires, pirelli scorpions atr's in 285/75/16 deal was buy two get two free with the purchase of lifetime balance, road hazard, and one year alignment contract. out the door for 754.96. I have read the good, bad, and ugly on these things but I had to do something. been watching craigslist and checking tire shops for something used as I need to lift this thing and get some 35's or 36's to compliment my 4.56's however the need for tires and funds for the proper lift wheels and tires just didn't coincide. but I have some good safe rubber and when I can do the lift and larger tires I am sure one of our work trucks will be able to put the perelli's to good use. also crossover steering is gonna be my next project so I will get some more use out of that alignment contract.

 

Stripped the interior for a good cleaning and sent the front seats off to the upholstery shop.

 

figured out my plenum is leaking, knock some dirt outta the K&N got to buy cleaner, oil all over filter....

 

Made some brackets and welded them into my bed for my new roll bar. It that was out of an '83 Chev.
