While driving home today and waiting at a stoplight - *sniff* *sniff* - then I noticed the idle changed Aw CRAP! Power steering when out, so I had to use Armstrong Steering to get home. Popped the hood, and there's fluid all over the inner fender panel, PWD, and elsewhere. Two years ago it was the lower pressure line that popped. I'm betting the high pressure line is the one that went. Well, 218K miles is a pretty good go around before it needs to be replaced. I won't get to that until next week.

Lost round one to the driver side, lower front, shock bolt. I refuse to be out-smarted by a rusty bolt.

Picked up a set of 3rd gen 17x8 rims off CL for 220.00

Sand down some tire mount rash on one and have a couple others to take some light scratches out.
I'm thinking powder coat.

Drove it a bit. My power steering went out while driving and started working again the next time I started the truck. Has worked since. Very odd.

I wired in my refrigerator. Simple little fridge from a trash pile. The electronic components run on 12V DC and uses peltier for cooling.
I removed the 120v AC to DC converter and it works great. I had it running through a cigarette lighter but the plug was deforming from heat of 5A current.
Running to battery with a fuse now.

I lucked out. It was the low-pressure line that popped off the pump. When I had rebuilt the pump I installed an in-line filter. It only goes in one-way, so it's doubtful that I installed it incorrectly. I removed the filter, reinstalled the line, and added a slobber of P/S fluid I had on-hand. I'll need to get more fluid tomorrow.

** EDIT **

Well, the pump ran too long without fluid and when I added some it piddled and splattered fluid all over the engine bay. FARK IT! I'm going to yank the steering box and ship it off to Red Hat Steering to get rebuilt and will also get the Rock Solid Steering fix while the P/S pump is out of the truck.
