What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
that is pretty cool. it makes me want to install some led's under the hood on my truck. it would beat me having to bring my work lights out and forget it out side.
Helped a poor little S10 get back onto the road this morning.
I was putting along at about 15-20 mph (solid ice on the road) and saw a mustang parked in the oncoming lane and a S10 half way into the ditch.
There were 3 guys from the mustang trying to push that thing and they managed to get the wheels off the high side of the ditch when I stopped to ask if they wanted a pull.
They said that they were going to try to get it going as it was so I just hung out while they tried in case they couldn't get it.
After seeing that they were going no where I pulled 50 yards up to the road that intersected the one they were on the side of. There was a relatively flat run from where they were at to the intersecting road with a less severe ditch that they could use to get the truck out.
I pulled down through the ditch and up to their truck then ripped some ruts through the ice so the guy could get a grip and get back on the road.
I first tried it in 4x4 but that was a no go. I would spin the tires for about a foot then they really bit and launched me so I put it back in 4x2 and ripped it up for him and he was able to get out.
These Truetracs are pretty awesome. I backed along the side of the road to give him enough room to get a run at the road without hitting me. Then from where I was sitting facing the opposite direction from where I wanted to go I gassed it a little and whipped the rear end around and went straight up the ditch without any fuss from my truck about not wanting to get up the hill in 4x2.

I checked out the brightness of the LEDs when it was pitch-black last night. Obviously, it puts out more light on one side of the engine bay than the other, so I'll need to address that. I'm thinking of adding a small LED on a line that winds up. That way, I can maneuver the light as needed.
Nothing lately, just an oil change today... Flushed and rinsed out the washer resivour and filled it with CLEAN prestone de-icer. Somehow mud ended up in the bottom. almost 16yrs old go figure... On the lookout for seat conversions. i.e. 04 ram seats to fit in my 95. All the foam is gone and they have zero lumbar support. Anyone out there seen a swap like that? Thanks
I seem to remember a link to someone installing the third gen seats in their 2nd gen.... some holes were not in the same location.... but, it looked good when he was done. Might check the FAQ section...... there is a thread of links, might be in there.
Yesterday I got code 0720 (speed sensor voltage low) so today I removed the skid plate assembly and the sensor.
Sure enough, it tested bad (open circuit) and I'll get a new one from the dealer.
I tried to remove my front driveshaft, but couldn't get the bolts loose, so that'll wait for warmer weather.

No work on it. But the truck did the work today. Drove around in it to look at places to live, and then moved 1/2 a load out to the new townhouse. It's gonna be working harder soon, 30 minute drive to work. Gonna be interesting.
