ordered lots o parts...
new 08.5+ steering
new return fuel line for modded liberty fuel canister with DS-V
new carli low mount steering stabilizer
lifted my bed to unhook all the crap in the fuel canister, and then dropped the cross-member and fuel tank.
still gotta clean out the crud in the fuel tank while I have it out, and install the new fuel line when it comes in, then the modded fuel canister, put it back together and re-hang the fuel tank. put the bed and bumper back on, put diesel in it and make sure nothing is leaking.
then I get to replace the front drag link, tie rod, and steering damper, and take it to an alignment shop.

Yeah, that big ole square dent is the reflection of me taking the picture.
I will say that there is a ding though, but not one like you describe.

I gained a better understanding of how my steering works after lots of reading and looking at pictures (I thought it was a T drag link/tie rod design, not a y...), and therefore realized how important to the life of the tires I just bought it is that I get it aligned.
Also, I stuck my fingers back behind the intake manifold and confirmed that I am indeed leaking from the corners where the intake gaskets meet. Guess I'll be going back in one of these days, with rtv this time

Or possibly a high pressure steam washer...
