I finally got around to doing the once-and-done valve cover bolt fix I've had in mind since I bought the beastie. Two fresh new gaskets, and a pocket full of allen bolts, lock washers, and flat washers. Not to mention thread locker. Every vehicle I've ever owned and liked has ended up with allen bolts -- back in the day when the cool kids were installing wing studs to make it easy to get in to do valve lash adjustments, I went for allen bolts. Those damned wing studs were famous for breaking off anyway, and I could get in just as fast with a t-handle without worrying about breakage. Never mind that there ain't no fast gonna happen with our "cab forward design". It's still a lot faster than messing with the factory hardware.

Hooray for no more self-loosening valve cover bolts.

I carried the 275g water tanks filled to the top last week for my septic tank leak test and never bottomed out. That's 2200# of water and about 100# for the pallet/frame and 300# of tools. So, if you haul heavy stuff regularly, get some Firestone airbags.

ja, just been sick this past week with a damn sinus infection. figured I'd keep that to myself till it passes rather than spread it lol. GF has the same thing, and so does some of her neighbors. it is spreading like the plague! So I been staying home playing BF3 on the puter. even got a new vid card for it so my puter would stop overheatin lol

after i swept out the remaining dirt i put my ballast retainer in. couple more weeks and the ballast will be in for good until spring.
I was hauling manure out last week Had that thing loaded all the way down to the rubber bumpers...

Correction: That first link was for the front axle. This is for the rear axle.
