Last month when installing my leveling kit I noticed a big dent in the exhaust pipe on the left side just below the 02 sensor. Today, I went and had it replaced. The guy cut the damaged part out and eliminated the leak-prone clamp in favor of welding a new piece of tubing in. Did a great job for $60.
The damaged section. The big dent was right above the driveshaft yoke at the pumpkin. Must have taken a big hit to go that far up. Hopefully, with the new lift I shouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

The dent was pretty significant and probably not helping exhaust flow on that bank any.

The finished repair looks real clean.

$60 for pipe cutting, bending & welding, that's dirt cheap.

Damn straight! And he wasn't even Mexican, either. Took him all of about 25 minutes.

The repair work looks good. You might want to clamp a heat shield on that new pipe to keep it from cooking that rubber boot.
