Welll. Turns out, I need the following done: New front calipers, pads, and rotors. As well as hoses. The left front is locking up intermittantly. I had them look at it since it was pulling left under hard braking. And I now know why I feel a pulse in the pedal under light braking...the rotors are likely warped since they are too thin!
Any suggestions? It's gonna be $620. My mom said to take it to another shop that has a history of no-bull pricing. 620 is twice as much as the rear when I had it done last year. :|
Sheez, come soon, I have all new brakes in this truck.
Their assessment is probably right. Did they show you the breakdown in parts and labor? You got 2 hands right? I'd say...pick up your own parts and do the work yourself. I bet you'd come out ahead.

He didn't do a break down no. Didn't even think about it at the time.

I would, but I purely don't have time. As a working student with my parents always on my ***, I can barely even get to check the tire pressure half the time.
I would also do the plenum, but the same rule applies.

Time to assess your priorities then. (and maybe your parents as well.) My guess is, you don't really need calipers. They seldom go bad. More likely is the brake hose is breaking down inside, and causing the caliper to intermittently lock up. Doing the hoses, (both wouldn't be a bad plan.) pads, and rotors, would be less than 200 bucks in parts. Will take you less than two hours to do. How do you/your parents feel about getting "paid" approximately 200 bucks an hour?

lol
I am going to let it rest a while. They still work, they are just annoying.
I have enough money to take care of it right now though. I also have the plenum to do. But I am going to get a second opinion from a shop that is usually less expensive then all the others.
