The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
Try being a loyal US Cellular customer for 12 years, and see if you "believe" in them anymore. New customers get far better than their loyal customers do. New customer gets a brand spankin new S4 for 0.01, Me? 12 yr loyal customer gets it for $800 WITH a new 2yr contract. No way no how... F*ck them.

Yes I can. It's 1xRTT digital, so they can. I had one just like it activated about 2 yrs ago.

I have a contract till Sept next year, but may break it, but right now they have the best coverage available, even though it is on a satellite network, it is still better than Verizon right now. There's rumours of some major cell phone network changes around here, I'm keeping a eye on the FCC charts to see who gets licenses where. MetroPCS is talking about getting coverage out here, as well as T-Mobile, who covers to about 50mi from where I live, then it's roaming on Att, Sprint may be another option but their cost sucks.
you should also smarten up and never sign a contract with a phone company. i got a pretty good plan and phone with a pay as you go plan. i also find my service provider is pretty good. i think i have been with them for about 7+ years with the same phone number. i don't remember how long my sister was with them before her boyfriend bought her a new phone with another company but about 2 months after the money on her old phone expired they sent her a letter saying that if she came back they would match whatever phone card she bought and add it to her account for free. she could have ended up with $200 worth of phone time for $100
must be a southern thing. my phone uses the bell phone system even though i don't have a plan with bell. my service provider runs through the towers. i can also swap sim cards with any phones setup to work on the bell network.
Oh you are on GSM/GPRS/EDGE network, I would switch to that in a hearbeat, but GSM coverage down here is very limited, it's mostly CDMA (because they can use satellites in the sky to provide it), not GSM (which requires ground towers), some places have PCS but once again its spotty service, part of the reason for GSM poor service is also due to certain high-powered radio towers located right in the path of coverage and it interferes with ANY cell phone service, but particularly GSM.
I has a cell phone, an IP-Phone, and a digital land line via cable-modem. I don't use or pay for the cable line so w/e on that lol.
the IP-Phone I use for work which the boss pays for. it is a land line style office phone, but it connects either via WiFi or RJ-45 (UTP -aka- cat5, cat 5e, cat 6)
plug in to the internet anywhere and it works.
and the cell I pay for which is a galaxy S4
