It's for Wireless Internet, they have no signal at their house, but do at the edge of their property, roughly 600' +/- away. POE #1 plugs in inside the house, Cat5/6 cable from it to the radio. Another port on the POE runs to a wireless router,switch, etc....

There are currently outlets at the power hub, so not sure if power there would even be an option.

Been looking at the CopperLink 2100/P, it supposed to work in conjunction with the first POE.

Think that and some good outdoor cable, maybe spring for Cat6 cable should do...

Don't need cat 6 unless you are going to do gigabit, and the little box doesn't support it.

All the little box is, is a repeater. POE should work just fine, provided the little box isn't too far from where power is inserted. (voltage loss over distance can be a pain with DC current.....)

I use Cat 5 no matter what length or speed, simply because satellite doesn't work with anything else...
