we've had unbelievable weather the last few days, record high temps already.... I've been outside allll weekend with the kids, playin in their power wheels jeeps, doin a little yard work, etc. It was so hot here this weekend that the kids were playin in the little stream that runs right beside our house..... love it!

And I just got back from takin dad's ram to a tranny shop, he's gonna get them to have a look at it, it's been overheating and comin outta OD. We checked out a nice big pit on the way back, we were in his Malibu so couldn't really play in it but I'm gonna take all my big boy toys out there for a day, the truck, wheeler, and the nitro trucks I love pits! lol

did you guys know that each 100 lbs. thats added to the truck reduces the avg. gas MPG's by 2%?

I saw it on xtreme 4x4 this weekend. Their project is to get better gas mpgs in a 2nd gen Dodge 1500. It started out getting 8 mpgs. I cant wait to see how much mpg's our trucks are capable of.

has that ram even been on there lately?? well this weekend apparently, but has it been on there much before? I got about 15 episodes each of xtreme 4x4, trucks, and horsepower tv saved on the PVR since Dakotas Ram (I think) mentioned the ram project, but haven't watched them all yet

I've been jumping straight to the end of each episode to see the ram and it's only been on there twice.
One of the things dude took out of his truck to reduce weight was his spare and tailgate, what if he gets a flat?

diddnt mythbusters show that you get worse gas mileage in your truck if you take your tail gate off, so anything he saved in weight he may have been losing in aerodynamics anyway.

they were testing alot of different solutions in that epoisode also, one ran 400 miles with the windows rolled down and the other one had the windows rolled up, and they did the tailgate on the way back and they both ran out of gas with in 4 miles of each other and the test was a probable not faults or proven because the 4 miles were so minute they said it wasnt enough to decide.

wow....this is no joke....i purposfully ran my tank to empty. (had gas can in back) i wanted to see how much mpg's i could get.

No joke she died at 399 miles. on a 26 gallon tank. I didnt beat on it, just drove normally. didnt go 4x4ing. and it was 20% highway 80% city. That means i got 15.35 MPG. Thats awesome lol. Looks like all my work is paying off.
