The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
Yo; 6-2141 = 9058; 76 440 AT F IE , use that site I posted to look this up. More info to follow
Thought it did, I was looking at the decoder wrong. It has a 400.
WTF!
I was looking at that site and it didn't come up on the list.
How'd you find that?

I do not.
I've looked for it and I haven't found it. I think it's concealed by stuff and gunk. Whereabouts is it usually?
If you're thinking I've got an older 440, I don't think so, there is a factory Dodge sticker on the passenger side valve cover, that says something about 1976 emissions standards and idle speed for various V8's.
*edit*
didn't think before that last part. If it were swapped it would be a 76 440, not on older engine. Maybe somebody swapped the carb to a 440 carb? Some 400's had the smaller primaries.

I have no idea what motor you have thats way I asked for the ser#. Been a long time but I think on the front up buy the heads, I could be way wrong.
Edit: Until we find out what motor it is anything is possible, if that is a 400 and the carb is for a 440 and that one has the big 1.5 secondaries ya it will bog a bit.
Possible casting numbers;
Casting number 4006530 400cid B 1976-78
Casting number 3698630 400cid B 1973-78
Casting number 3698830 440cid RB 1972-78
Casting number 4006630 440cid RB 1975-78
CP info from Stock Mopar site.
You can find your casting number on the left hand side of your engine. Don’t get this confused with the partial VIN number that is also stamped in your engine which is on the right hand side of your engine. Hopefully you will find this list helpful.

Haynes says that on the 400, it's on passenger side of the dizzy, and on the 440, it's in front of the intake.
I'm trying to remember why I can't get to it....I'm thinking there is something in the way by the dizzy and the A/C compressor is in the way for looking at the intake.
Just found this at http://www.rockcharger.com/tech/bigblockid.html

On B engines, 351-400 ci, there is a pad on the right front of the engine below the distributor. On RB engines, 413-440 ci, there is a pad on the left front of the engine. These pads contain stampings that will quickly identify an engine and usually tell you a little about it.
