Got the boat to fire up. That ole '64 Johnson Seahorse still runs great. I had to run it on starter fluid though since my fuel line connectors havent shown up yet, est delivery day on them was the 5th!!! Everything on the motor seems to be working flawlessly. But the lower unit is leaking some oil, which really sucks cause it was rebuilt about 10 years ago and was never used. Maybe the gaskets are just dry and shruken, and when i start running it they will swell back up.

 

Where's it leaking from prop shaft seals or case halfs? Most times no the seals will not swell and reseal themselves. Pics of the lower unit if you have some. Good to read that it runs.

 

actually it appears to be leaking out the exhaust on the lower unit. It may just be all the oil ive been squirting in the cylinders for the last 10 years making it s way out. Is there any other reason i would have oil dripping out the exhaust since its a 2-stroke?
