The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
Seeing things like that wrecked semi are what make me still say there isn't enough money in the world to get me back in the cab of one of them.
There are a few other reasons to go with that though.
I was a bigtimeproffesionaltruckdrivingman {yes, its all one word like that} for around 7 years. My idea of a weekend at home was a lot different from the companies idea of a weekend off at home. To them it meant that whatever time of day I got into the yard with their truck{Friday evening to anytime Saturday} I could go home but,... if I had a load out that had to be somewhere Monday morning I would have to leave home in time to get it there on time. Made for some darn short weekends.
My idea of a regular weekend off was alot different too. The company's idea was if there was no freight the truck just didn't roll, wherever it happened to be, it just sat until there was freight to haul.
I spent a lot of weekends and holidays in places that no one wanted to be. I was always broke, tired, dirty, hungry, horny,... and not home.
Then one fine day the federal government came up with the CDL license program to replace the chauffeurs license. Since I had already been driving for several years all I had to do was get the company to endorse the miles I had driven to be grandfathered in, but,... they refused because once they compiled my mileage, for the years I drove for them, it was more than a darn good team could legally cover.
It did not matter to the state that Ihad all but a few months of my mileage printouts from the company and almost all my logbooks. The drivers license examiner said they had to come directly from the company, and even had the ***** to say anyone with a computer and printer could have made the papers I brought in. Every week you got the mileage printout with your pay check. Since I was always out a month or more all my printouts were pretty much waiting for me at home all nice and mostly pristine, since the company had mailed them to the house.
My wife would cash the checks but put the rest in the file cabinet. When the company finally upgraded to direct deposit the wife didn't even open them anymore, just tossed them in the file cabinet.
I could have paid to take a state authorized CDL class for a few thousand dollars and gotten a fresh minty new CDL but I was pissed at the company anyway so I just quit.
I still have a class D license here in Illinois with air brake endorsement so I can still drive straight trucks or even semi trucks licensed for up to 16,000 GVWR. I haven't done that for years now.
In one of those pictures you can see a headlight still on. Wonder if he had his headlights on for safety or if the truck had automatic headlights.

It has.
Imma wait for the ban hamma to start flying around.
I'm waiting on the front shocks for the 76.
For some reason, a newbie from the 3rd gen section PM'd me asking for help with his 4x4 system, after he had posted a thread. lolwtf

Unfortunately it's not the only fiesty forum...
Over on OilBurners they had a guy who was trying new stuff and some of the guys b1tched off at him and it resulted in a nasty fight, he left and the others, well, I won't go into that.
So he went over to PSN and showed all the OBNers off with his successful build.
I joined OBN after the struggle, it now has new ownership and is a nice quiet forum.
Then there's the Ubuntu dev team, which I left after it became a pissing match, which I didn't start nor contributed to. F?ck them.

Haha I love his truck! I'm sure he'll try especially after I get my 4.56 gears. I need to go bigger tires is the next thing. Gotta wait on them taxes to come back to me.
I'm just going to have to get a little civic to be my daily driver then. This'll be the casual and weekend driver.

There's a guy in my town who wheels his 99 1500. Pretty much a complete butthole to everyone else who wheels because he thinks he is a "professional". I will admit that he knows his stuff on how to fab and build things. But the fact that every other truck, jeep or whatever is below his level annoys a lot of people. Well.... end rant I guess. BUT I will be basing my near future lift off of his designs. Here's a link to his thread about control arms and such awhile back. I'll be making my own long arms for the front with a friend but I'll get actual lifted springs for the rear.

He actually dovetailed the bed which doesn't look half bad. He has 4.56's, stock axles (upgraded shafts), lockers, and a basically stock engine (fixed plenum, CAI).
EDIT: Now he is finishing a Toyota crawler project. D60's, front and rear spools, and a stupid amount of flex.
