The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
I have never used chains or "snow tires"
I drive the dodge as is, and throw weight in the bed of the S10 (not a 4x4) for snow. chains are for noobs
Bahahaha. Wrong. chains are only for 4wd chebbys

Edit: Stupid computer must like chevys or something cuz it didn't post everything I typed... Saw a 4wd chevy in the ditch and he couldn't get out of it. Probably took the curve waaaay too fast. I was going 35 and wasn't slipping or sliding.
I drove through 8 inches of snow in 2wd with the dodge. No problems. And I've got a open diff too :O
And mud tires and more than enough power to do burnouts on concrete...

I've got lots of hills and inclines to get up and down, which makes things harder.
Same here. Lots of tight curves too. But as you said, as long as you keep steady going you can usually get anywhere. Thankfully they grade all of the gravel to the shoulder of the roads so if you slip to the side of the road you can keep from sliding into the ditch and can get some traction.
why would I want to go over there in the land of excessive salt use?! my truck already has some cancer going, I don't need to make the cancer 10x worse! lol
If I want to drive through tons of snow, I need only take a 30 minute drive to the mountain pass through the cascade mountains

Actually it's only people who don't wash their trucks regularly that have the rust/salt issue. and some people coat their vehicles with a special anti-rust coating.
my truck has been selected for more beta testing
they want me to swap my secondary turbo for a VGT and have me test out a new tuner they came up with that is based off my current tuner, but with added built in VGT controller, etc... should be interesting. and will give me an exhaust brake! woot!
