The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
i love new england!!!!
Hopefully Help, 2000 Durango 4.7 every once in a while check gauge light comes on, has done it 3 times in the last 6 months or so, I have taken the battery and alt in twice and had them tested and both check out good, it runs fine and the battery even had 12.5 volts when the gauge said 0 could this be gauge going?
I am out of options of what to check or change, today it did it for my wife and when she checked the error code it said P1682 low charging voltage, It has a new belt on it
I would think if it were the alt it would not have tested good,
Any one else have this problem,? We have a long trip coming up in 2 months and I really don't want to be on the road and something goes screwy
Thanks

first off, welcome to df
Second off, start a thread in the tech section for Durangos, you'll get more help there. Here's a link to the right section:

On another note, I'd check your battery cables to make sure they are clean and tight.

It's been so dry the past three/four years that the dirt has gotten dry and moved away from the foundation of the house, which is pretty old, and has plenty of cracks... Got water coming in now...Grrr... Wet vac to the rescue!

In the 70's this weekend, down into the 30's on tuesday, but, still above freezing... just some rain in the forecast.
