well the truck, like every other one i looked at, was a pos. needs front end work and has a lot of poly bond and the tires were gone. Not worth it so i guess i will continue looking....
Good luck to ya. I'm having lots of ''fun'' finding a nice S-10 for myself.

the worst part is i've been looking for pretty much 4 months now and will consider anything that isn't ford and looking at full and mid-size and i still cant find anything decent for 4k . I am pretty particular though because it has to be 4wd, ext cab, if it's a full size v8 and mid size v6 or v8 and preferably 180k km's or less. At least i don't get my license till March.

I've only been looking for a month or so now. It has to be an S-10 or Blazer 82-90 or 98-04. 2WD or ZR2 4x4 with the V6. No rust and good looking for less than $5,000. I'm trying to learn from the mistakes of my Dad's blue S-10; I dont want a rusty 4 cylinder automatic with no options! I dont care about mileage. I find it amazing that there are still so many 6-10 year old S-10s out there going for $8,000-12,000.
Rust is the reason i cant find anything decent here... salt sucks and people seem to think a 13 year old rusted out POS it worth 4k with 250k km's on it. I'd really like to find a 318 dakota, but the chances are slim. Probably going to end up with a 94-98 silverado because they're pretty easy to come by, just need to find a mint one.
Hoo ya! Just did 500 miles with two passengers in the cab and a load of 300lbs. in the bed, headwinds of 10-30MPH the whole way and an overall elevation gain of ~2000', running 70-80MPH except in construction zones, and with the AC on for the second half, and got 14.76MPG.
Now I'm curious to see what it'll do without the headwinds.
