my grandfathers old john deere 4010 diesel would stand up in all 8 gears.
after popping the front tires a couple feet off the ground when i was 15, he said "you know, i broke the front suspension doing that one time." so i didn't do it any more.

my dad had a 4020 until he sold it to my uncle a few years ago. My uncle rebuilt it this past summer and put a turbo on it. He put it on a Dyno and is making around 145hp now. It sounds pretty BA now too.

we don't have any old deeres, just old olivers
our deere equipment is newer (the oldest being a 1990 4955)
i would really like to find an old oliver 1950 with the 4-53 detroit and also a 2150 with the factory turbo'd inline six
i read an article in a diesel world mag. that was about a 4020 IIRC, turbo'd, when it was still pulling years ago, it was at nearly 200 horse to the pto
it had an aftermarket cast alumiumn oil pan that held 20 quarts
